The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is made up of two PADI professional development programs, the PADI Assistant Instructor Course (AI) and the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Program (OWSI).
The PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) program is the first step in your development as a PADI Instructor. You will begin learning the PADI system of dive education through a series of workshops and presentations in the classroom, confined water and open water.
As a PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) you will be able to :
- Teach PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course
- Teach PADI Project AWARE specialty courses
- Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences
The PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor (OWSI) program completes your PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). This program refines your teaching and evaluation abilities through a series of presentations, workshops and practice sessions. You will become very familiar with the PADI system of diver education, the materials available, professional support available and you will learn how to market your new skills.
The PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor (OWSI) program is run over 4 days, upon succesful completion you will be given a certificate that allows you to sit the PADI Instructor Exam (IE)* and become a fully certified PADI Instructor.
The PADI Instrcutor Development Course (IDC) which is made up of both the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI)program and the PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor (OWSI) program, is run over 8 days, this allows you to complete your instructor development in a challenging yet relaxed and unstressful environment, after completing the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) program we take a day to relax, review skills and techniques, practice what you've learned so far and most importantly to go DIVING!!! at the world famous Fish Rock Cave, after all diving is what it's all about!!!
